Social Sciences University of Ankara (Ankara Sosyal Bilimler Üniversitesi- ASBU hereafter) is an ambitious, research-oriented, public university established in 2013. It is located in the heart of Ankara, in the historical city center, namely, Ulus. It offers undergraduate and graduate education with its five faculties: Political Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Foreign Languages, Theology, Law.  English is the medium of instruction in majority of the programmes. The Department of Foreign Languages, through its contemporary English teaching methods, ensures a high quality of language education.

While high quality research constitutes the main scope of academic work at ASBU, excellence in teaching and community service are also of equal importance. With its young and enthusiastic academic cluster, research institutes as well as close ties with state institutions, non-governmental organisations and private enterprises, ASBU has already found itself a place among top universities in Turkey.

About Online Linguistic Support (OLS)

The Online Linguistic Support (OLS) supports language learning for Erasmus+ mobility participants. The OLS offers participants in Erasmus+ student mobility activities the opportunity to assess their skills in the foreign language(s) they will use to study, work or volunteer abroad. In addition, selected participants may follow an online language course to improve their competence.

The OLS language assessment is mandatory for all participants to Erasmus+ mobility activities (studies/traineeships/EVS volunteering) with one of the belowmentioned languages as the main language of instruction, work or volunteering (with the exception of native speakers):

Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, French, Crotian, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, Portugese, Romanian, Slovak, Finish, Swedish.

Erasmus+ mobility participants must take the assessment twice — before and at the end of their mobility period — in order to monitor their progress in the language of mobility. Assessment results do not prevent participants from taking part in the mobility programme, but can be used by the sending institution to identify the participants most in need of linguistic support.

For more information, please visit http://erasmusplusols.eu/

Remark: OLS exam is delivered both at the beginning and at the end of the mobility period. It is obligatory to have those OLS exams. It is one of the required conditions of the Erasmus grant.  Zero-grant Erasmus students are obliged to have this exam as well.
